About

My name is Lukas Richter and I was born in Upper Austria. Currently I am working and living in Vienna. I have an MSc (in Austria it’s called “Diplom-Ingenieur”) in Mathematics from the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien). After university I started working at the department of infectious disease epidemiology at the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES). Main tasks are data analysis, statistical and mathematial modelling, and producing automated reports out of them. Therefore I am a heavy R user and can recommend to learn coding in R for everyone who is interested in data preparation and analysis. Using some of the AGES projects I am also doing a PhD in cooperation with the University of Technology in Graz at the moment.

My freetime is spent for going to the stadium and watch football (Rapid Wien is my club), attending concerts (mostly Metal bands) and traveling. Another passion are strategic games. Sometimes I even find time to make music myself while visiting my friends at my hometowns brass band (MVL).
